Teaching yoga came into my life in a very organic way; while backpacking around the world I’d follow my own practice and often asked people to join me. I remember one particular day on a volcanic island in Nicaragua, where I taught a curious local teenager to do a wheel pose. His enthusiasm really touched me and it was then when I started dreaming about sharing my love to yoga through teaching.
My first (Ashtanga) teacher training in Mysore, India was a strict alignment- based training. Although I loved the rigorous practice, I felt like something was missing. This is what led me to join the YogaGarden’s Vinyasa TT, which was an interesting process of un-learning many of the old traditions and re-learning anatomy and asana practice with a functional approach.
I hope to combine the beautiful tradition of Ashtanga yoga with the creativity of functional yoga in my class, and inspire people to explore new aspects of their physical and mental abilities.
