From age 18 till 38 I was a dancer working and touring internationally. In 1990 I took my first Yoga class. At first I did it to support my dance training, but more and more it became a source of nourishment and support in all other kinds of ways. Yoga is very different from dance because it is not about what your shapes looks like; it is about what you can discover about yourself and your body while exploring those shapes. Yoga is also different from sports. In yoga you don’t have to improve your body or change it. It is about becoming better acquainted with yourself, more at ease, becoming friends with your own body and mind. More strength, flexibility and balance are a by-product of this process.
I have been teaching Yoga for over ten years. I did teacher trainings with Dona Holleman and with Anat Geiger among others. Also I give Thai Yoga massages (www.thaimassageamsterdam.nu).
