I have been working with the body and movement in many ways for more than twenty years. The body has been my key and my door to discovery and transformation.

My focal point has always been 'form' as a way for the invisible to become visible.

In this life journey I found yoga through the approach of Dona Holleman- the creator of Centered Yoga- to whom I am forever grateful. Her vision and knowledge has been and is of immense benefit for my body, my mind and their integration.

I followed the 3 years Teacher Training with her and graduated in 2010.

Next to the learning with Dona I have been following classes with Anat Geiger in Amsterdam for the last 4 years, an ongoing practice and learning process at all levels.

The study and the practice of yoga have been and is changing my body and moving my mind, while I am deeply enjoying the unfolding power within me and the softening of the heart.

In my teaching I integrate all the knowledge I have acquired through the study and practice of Aikido, experiential anatomy, somatic movement, and dance improvisation.

My yoga class focuses on body alignment to support and improve easiness in movement and stillness.

By giving very clear anatomical reference everyone is able to physically understand and enjoy the benefit of each exercise and posture. The practice develops with calm and attention.

 

The relation between the physical and the energy body is addressed by working with the breath, training our capacity to direct our focus, developing a full attention and the use of our intent.

The practice helps to release tension while developing a stronger centered body, which in time can experience a stream of energy connecting physical, mental and energy body.

The yoga practice is informing all aspects of my life, it is a state of mind, a way of being and looking.

My practice of yoga is a way to tune into the movement of life; to open a window in the wall of existence and breath life in.

It is an open field to ride, a given space where something from an entirely different place can manifest!
